Nature Walks – Swim Lessons

This is my view that I get to enjoy everyday.  This is the top of lake 1, facing west, towards our Flatirons.  You can’t see our house, but we are just on the left, just about equal to the buoy.  We have lived here for almost 13 1/2 years.  I just never get tired of my beautiful view.

Today’s walk was rather uneventful, until the end of the walk.  We didn’t really see much of anything for most of our walk.  But as we were heading back home, our two geese families were both out for swims on lake 2. Of course they were social distancing themselves from each other too.  Both sets of parents were teaching their little ones how to be good swimmers.  As a swimmer and swim coach myself, everyone needs to know how to swim.  Family #1 had 7 goslings and family #2 had 4.

I have been receiving many positive thoughts on my “nature series” photos.  Some have even asked if I would set up a separate page just for these shots.  I am thinking about, but in all honesty, sometimes I get overwhelmed with one website.  I don’t know if I can handle two.  But it is definitely in the realm of possibilities.  You just never know. In the meantime, I am glad everyone is enjoying these beautiful natural scenes.  I certainly love sharing them with you.  It seems these are just as popular as my cooking.  🙂

  3. Jeanne, you have a fabulous view which you share with some wonderful neighbours whom you have beautifully recorded. I just want to ruffle their fluffy feathers. I think that second blog is on the cards.

  4. Look at those mountains. Wow. That’s awesome.
    As for setting up a new page – I’d recommend against it. It’s more work. Plus, you will feel bad if you neglect one for a longer period of time and it will cause a chain reaction of negative feelings.
    If you have a long term plan for implementing such photos on your blog, create categories cooking vs. nature. If you’re not sure if it’s something you will keep up, do what you’ve been doing till now.

    1. Cool. You were exactly who I was going to ask for insight too. I agree with you. I think I am just going to keep what I’m doing at the moment. But I do have another question. I am thinking about publishing all my photos of “Life on the Lakes” and maybe sell it locally. How would I go about that and is it worth it? How expensive is it?

      1. How exciting!
        Unfortunately, I have no idea. My story was done by an indie publishing press. All the costs (whatever they were) were up to the publisher.
        I’d check and see if there is a local publisher near you. Or an organization that works on promoting your area.
        Otherwise, you could try to self-publish. (I have not been down that road yet, because I hope by the time I completely finish editing my novel I will miraculously get an agent and a publisher, etc.)
