Nature Walks – Squirrel Trees

Our squirrels have been actively gathering their nuts lately. As usual, squirrels are every where, but I have been seeing a lot of them in our trees lately. Did someone plant squirrel trees? šŸ™‚

I even catch them on the ground before they can make it up the trees too, though they get up into the trees very quickly. šŸ™‚

I have worked in the restaurant and catering industry for over 35 years. I attended 2 culinary schools in Southern California, and have a degree in culinary arts from the Southern California School of Culinary Arts, as well as a few other degrees in other areas. I love to cook and I love to feed people.

  1. loll 🄰 some people consider squirrels pests but I enjoy their antics and find them industrious, clever, and amazingly resilient and brave. Apparently they remember all their storage areas and can map them out and remember upwards of 25 stash or hideaway locales.

      1. I put out nuts and seeds for them got them used to being close to me. Soon I could sit on the back step and throw a peanut to them and they’d come and take it. Then I’d throw another one, but not quite as far, so they had to come closer. They’re smart animals and quickly realized that they had a good thing going. Soon they would take a nut that I held out to them, and before long they were eating food from the palm of my hand.
