I have been an animal lover my whole life. I can’t remember a time when animals were not always part of the family. Even stuffed animals were always a part of my life and always around. I still love my big teddy bears. Every time we go to the Wild Animal Sanctuary, the big bears always remind me of big stuffed teddy bears. I just want to cuddle with them all, even though I know I can’t.

He’s going for a swim.

They like to cuddle with each other too. He’s smiling.

The black bears weren’t as active this time around. But the Grizzlies were.

EWWWW! Something stinks here. Who farted?

AWWWW! That’s better now.

Have a beary nice day. π
Those are great bear photos. However, you do not want to meet one them when you are hiking alone, but I guess a cougar would be worse since bears typically don’t want to kill you. We met Grizzly bear #399 and three of her cubs in Grand Teton National Park. She sought human company on purpose to protect her cubs from male grizzly bears. The rangers let the situation be since she had never hurt anyone despite extensive contact with people.

I love that. π I like to meet them, but I like to keep a safe distance. π

Yes a safe distance is essential. You have no chance if they get aggressive. However, Grizzly #399 was special. A ranger told me about a hiker who was hiking alone (dumb) and he walked right into Grizzly #399 as she and her cubs were feasting on a dead Elk. He was so shocked that he screamed on top of his lungs and started running. Grizzly #399 and her cubs took chase. Then he remembered to lie down and cover his neck with his hands. Grizzly #399 came up to him but did nothing. However, two of her cubs gently bit his behind and then they walked off. After a while he stood up and walked back to the road. He went to the hospital. He was in shock but was not injured. Had that been another Grizzly he would have been dead.

I sure wouldn’t want to meet a grizzly bear, or a black bear! I’ll keep my distance!
