Nature Walks – Shades of The Lily
Our lilies are in full bloom right now. They look so pretty. I am seeing them in gold, shades of orange and bright red. They just pop right out and brighten everything up.
The golden yellows.
Orange.
And the reds.
Color your world beautiful, today, tomorrow and all the tomorrows to come.
I have worked in the restaurant and catering industry for over 35 years. I attended 2 culinary schools in Southern California, and have a degree in culinary arts from the Southern California School of Culinary Arts, as well as a few other degrees in other areas. I love to cook and I love to feed people.

Our daylilies started out great… but then the deer found them and decimated them. βΉοΈ
The deer are pretty, but very destructive. They are also a menace on the highway and cause thousands of traffic accidents every year. Our son hit a deer a few months ago and his truck has been in the shop ever since. (It’s an older model and very hard to get spare parts for.) We had to lend him one of our cars — good thing we have two!
I grow all my lettuce in a pot on the deck (which is not accessible from the ground) to keep the deer from eating it. For some reason, they don’t bother my herbs, which I grow in pots by the porch. But I don’t know how to save the daylilies.

I guess it is kind of bittersweet. I would love to see the deer. π

That all makes sense, and I have heard how the deer can be pests, but they are so beautiful. π

Yes, they are. Especially a doe with a little fawn or two.
