It has been miserably HOT, HOT, HOT here lately. Sadly, that means it is way too hot to go out for walks too. But it is finally cooling down a little, meaning not only can I go out again, but the animals are back out again too. One of my finds was a very curious Killdeer. He was up on the ridge over one of our lakes. We see them often, but not all the time. I always get excited about seeing them when I do. 🙂

You are right, Jeanne, he is beautiful!

I love birds. My dad and I used to birdwatch together. So when I see my birds, my daddy is also here with me. 🙂

I love this! When I lived in Florida, it happened to be on Killdeer St and I’d never seen one, but was always curious about them. What a neat looking bird, thanks for sharing.

My pleasure. I liked your story too. Send me your address, via my email at ljbjej@q.com and maybe I can send you a photo of a killdeer. 🙂

WE used to have killdeer nesting in our gravel lane when we first moved in here. I’ll have to see if I can find the photos for a throwback – but they’re not digital, so it will probably take me some time to find them…
