Winter is coming. Most of the beautiful fall colors are now gone and most of my feathered and furried friends have left for the season as well. Now what is left around the lakes is tranquility. Everything is quiet, with only hints of life left about. But that’s OK. The peace and quiet is very soothing and comforting, and I know, it won’t be long before life around the lakes will be hopping again.

Every time has its season and every season has its time. There is beauty to be found in all.
Lovely shots.

The bench looks like a perfect spot for a “sit, breathe, and relax.”

I know I take a lot of pictures, but these just really spoke to me. I like that one a lot too.

Thank you. We think so too. These are from the open spaces behind our house.

Beautiful shots and a nice way of looking at it. We get none of that tranquility in Florida except at the beach in winter. When it gets cold, there are days we are the only humans out there. 😊

Thank you. I grew up in Southern California, and those were always some of my favorite times at the beach, although, I love the beach and the ocean at any time. 🙂

I had never been to a real beach until I was 18 and went to Hawaii as a graduation present. I’m from north Texas and it was my first airplane ride too. As much as I would love to move to Montana or Wyoming, I’d miss the beach too much! 🙂

The beach and the ocean are a large part of who I am. It’s in my soul. 🙂

I get that! It’s in my soul too! That’s why I never went back to North Texas. I need to be near the ocean. I might at some point get to the mountains and stay there, but it’s hard to think about being away from the sandy beaches of Florida. 🙂

I am nowhere near the ocean anymore, but as you can see, I still live next to water. We scuba dive all over the world, so that helps a lot too. 🙂

Well that is fun. I have never scuba dived. I’m claustrophobic and the thought of that is not settling for me at all. I’m above average as a swimmer now but I drown when I was 7. Resuscitated obviously but still have issues after all these years. 😊

Good for you for getting back into the water. That’s HUGE! I am a swimmer and a swim coach. Just keep swimmin’, just keep swimmin’, just keep swimmin’.

Yep, just keep swimmin’. I got back in the water by the time I was 9 or so. Doing flips off the diving board by the time I was 11 or so. I had to learn to swim…no choice! When I was in the Marine Corps, we had serious training with how to save other marines & how to make a floatation device out of our cammies. We had to get wet with our boots on. I still don’t have any desire to scuba dive. I’ve snorkeled and I can handle that. 🙂 Thanks coach!

Any time! I took those same classes, only not with cammies, but with regular street clothes. Thank you for your service. 🙂

Thanks for your kind comment. It is what I chose to do and thank goodness too. I lost my job in March due to covid. I couldn’t afford the cobra but for a few months. I don’t have medical insurance right now but I have the VA so it certainly worked out! 🙂
