9/11 – Never Forget

Today is September 11. Twenty-three years ago today, America was attacked by terrorists. I will ever forget. I hope America and the whole world will never forget either.

I have worked in the restaurant and catering industry for over 35 years. I attended 2 culinary schools in Southern California, and have a degree in culinary arts from the Southern California School of Culinary Arts, as well as a few other degrees in other areas. I love to cook and I love to feed people.

  1. I won’t either. I still share the stories with our now grown kids, they were 3 and 1 at the time. I remember the news was constant image after image of that horror that happened. After days of watching that and listening to any news to figure out what was going on and why that happened we finally turned the TV off and brought out our old VHS machine and hooked it up and played old classic Disney movies for the kids, and nature shows…our mental health was not so great watching those scenes over and over again. seeing those people who did not survive. The smiling firemen who walked into that building to save others…heartbreaking to think about it…true heroes that’s what they were. Praying that they would find more survivors day after day in the rubble, that was all they were playing on the screens at that time. All the news channels replayed horror after horror hourly and daily. Also, the skies were silent. It was the strangest thing to not see or hear planes flying above for days, that was enough to remind us that something terrible had occurred. I will never be able to forget, it left a deep scar in our memory. And scars never go away.
