I don’t usually reblog posts, but this is one of those rare occasions. This message is spot on. America is GREAT because of WE THE PEOPLE, not because of ME. Let’s keep the WE in America strong and not focus so much on ME.

c. Republicans

The ME in America seems more important today than ever. Whatever the first person singular, I, want is paramount to public safety, common sense, the collective wisdom, science or whoever you think is trying to take away your/my/our/their ideas of freedom.
We are so taken up with our individual rights of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness that we forget that it is We, not I,which is from the Preamble of the Declaration of Independence:

that’s quite a nationalist post/argument. That reminded me of our law school readings on capitalism and communism.
so from what i remember, in communism, its the “We” that matters more than “I”. In other words capitalism is ‘rights oriented’ and communism is ‘duty oriented’.

Great reblog Jeanne. I wish more people would embrace this way of thinking, especially those who insist their civil liberties take precedence over protecting others by wearing a mask and social distancing.

People have NO filters any more. They think they can just come up and say whatever THEY feel like saying and that’s OK. I am getting so frustrated with people more and more everyday.
