Our house is quickly getting into the spirit of the season. The decorations are coming out, the trees are up and the outside lights are on. My friend Elizabeth came over last night to help us decorate the trees. We even had some help from the fur babies as well. The kitties liked all the boxes. There were so many new things to explore with all these boxes coming up from the basement. Lucie was helping Daddy every time he went downstairs and Vinnie was helping out upstairs, swiping his tail on everything to make sure there was just enough dog fur on all the decorations. I guess this was his way of giving his pawprint of approval.
Larry is working on the little tree for the art niche. Christmas carols were playing in the background to help us get into the spirit of the season.
It’s not done yet, but it’s getting there.
Working on the main tree in the family room. It wasn’t finished here, but we got it all decorated after dinner. After dinner and the trees were up, we all decided to watch one of our favorite Christmas movies, “Love Actually“.
Elizabeth and I working on the tree in the living room. We love our very eclectic trees. We travel a lot, and we collect Christmas ornaments from all of our travels. They are fun mementos of our trips and adventures.
Our big tree outside in the front yard. Larry also put the lights up around the house and on our back deck too.
Time to rest after all the hard work of decorating.
The Christmas cards are all ready to go out and the house is mostly done. We still have a bit more decorating to do to get ready for the holidays, but we have certainly made a lot of headway. We are almost there. We are supposed to get a ton of snow tomorrow. We are expecting between 8-14 inches in our neck of the woods, and more in the mountains. So, yes, it is definitely “beginning to look a lot like Christmas”.
Awesome! Everything look great! So warm and cozy! We got our tree last night and decorated too. Always fun! God bless!

Thank you. Same to you. I hate to admit it, but our trees are artificial.

Jeanne, we haven’t had Thanksgiving yet!
That is one tall tree you got there.
Larry in a T-shirt this time of year? Is he insane?
Everything looks great, though.

Thank you. I know, but because we are having our annual party this Saturday, right after Thanksgiving, we had to get the Christmas decorations up. It wasn’t my choice either, but our party is early this year. Yesterday was pretty warm, and it is supposed to be decent today. The snow is supposed to come in tonight. Our weather is the wackiest weather around. We can, and do, change seasons in 5 minutes.

You need to tell whoever organizes the party that Goldie asked for it to be re-scheduled to December. I’m sure they will listen. Or else…
Living in the Midwest has definitely gotten me used to the 4 seasons in a day thing. I didn’t know the same can be applied to Colorado. So did you get snow?

🙂 🙂 🙂 I will pass that along.
Did we get snow?????? OMG! We are sitting at about 8-10 inches and it is still snowing. Boulder, just about 15 minutes away is reporting 22 inches, and Red Feather Lakes, near the Wyoming border and about 1 1/2 hours away from us, is reporting 32 inches. It is DEFINITELY a snow day.

Wow. Keep your head above water. Well, in your case – snow.

🙂 🙂 🙂 Our final total was 13.5 inches.

So it should be easy. You must be taller than that. But in all seriousness – that is quite a bit.

🙂 🙂 🙂 I am slightly taller than that. We did have quite a bit, but there were other parts that had quite a bit more.

I start decorating the day after Thanksgiving. It takes me a couple of weeks to get everything set up! I’m not setting up the Christmas garden (trains, tree and villiage) so that’s one less thing.
Thanks for sharing, enjoyed the photos!

Usually we do too, but because our party is early this year we had to start decorating early too. Thank you.

How festive! As long as you pause for Thanksgiving (and I know you do), it’s okay to decorate for Christmas so you can enjoy the time with family and friends. 🌲

As much as I love Christmas and the whole Christmas season, Thanksgiving is actually my favorite Holiday. It is all about being thankful for the blessings we already have. 🙂

So pretty. I started decorating a little early too. Usually I wait until after Thanksgiving but we bought some little trees up north when we were there a couple weeks ago. Snow is coming up to Our Little Red House but we won’t be able to make it because we do not want to get stuck up there. Here in the city there will be lots of rain for our Thanksgiving week and Black Friday shopping.

I’ve been taking a poll lately of people who have started decorating early for Christmas. We used to have a rule that we’d wait until after Thanksgiving to decorate too, but we royally broke that rule this year and I have zero regrets. I started decorating right after Veterans Day. My theory is that people are so tired of consuming toxic stuff in the media and on social media that they want to pull the joy of Christmas forward as much as they can. It’s a concrete way of opting out of all the nonsense. I just feel so much better jumping toward the holidays and family and hospitality.
Anyway, that is one seriously impressive tree you have there!!!! These pictures made me miss Colorado, where all the trees can be Christmas trees.

And let me wish you an early Happy Thanksgiving, as I don’t know what my connectivity will be this week. I can’t wait to see what you do for Thanksgiving dinner! I am sure it will be amazing!

Thank you. Happy Thanksgiving to you as well. My Thanksgiving will be celebrated with kids who are both vegan AND very picky eaters, so it will just be simple fare. Nothing fancy this time.

Well, that was just because we had it and needed to clear up some freezer space. 🙂

I like your way of thinking. I hadn’t thought about that, but I certainly agree.
These are all artificial trees. I wish they were the real deal, but I like them being in nature, decorating the landscape. Like you said, all our Colorado trees can be Christmas trees. I do miss having a real tree. We used to, but we have been using the artificial ones for years now. there are pros and cons of both. 🙂

Sure, I mean decorating the trees outside! I do artificial trees too. Being a gardening nut, I am way too emotional about cutting down trees. They get to be my friends over the years, lol.

Thank you. We all had a good time. It’s really beginning to look like Christmas now. We are in the throws of a major snow storm. It is still snowing, and we are sitting at about 8-10 inches. We’re a bit more restrained in France largely because of all the wonderful civic decorations.
